We are a small group of like-minded individuals who are interested in spending time outdoors while discovering the many mysteries of the natural world. On scheduled dates we visit local areas such as the Mono Cliffs,
Hockley Valley and Forks of the Credit Provincial Parks. On these outings we explore many Naturalist/Tracker related themes such as:
Winter Tracking, Edible/Medicinal Plants, Tree Identification (Summer and Winter), Foxes/Coyotes,
etc.
We are a slow-paced learning group that places more emphasis on education and using our senses than hiking and covering lots of ground.
We welcome newcomers regardless of age or experience and value everyone's input equally.
We hope to see you on our next outing.
Happy Tracking! --Alexis Burnett (club organizer)
| ALGONQUIN TRIPS
I'm going to be leading some
canoe trips in Algonquin park for a company called
Northern Edge. Throughout July I will be doing an
Awareness/morning tea with moose trip
http://www.northernedgealgonquin.com/algonquin.html.
This will be a basic
awareness/naturalist trip. In August and September I
will be doing the Wolf howl canoe trips which will
be focusing more on wolves and animal tracking in
the park. From the link above you can see the pdf's
about each trip as well as watch a couple short
videos of me describing them as well. This link is
in the bottom right part of the page. These will be
pretty much 'beginner' level type trips.
Lastly my friend Chris Mortimer and I are going to
be teaching an 'Art of Wilderness Survival' class in
August at the Edge and we are really looking forward
to it. If you or anyone you know are interested you
can contact me directly or contact the office.
